The National Navigation Award Scheme is a progressive programme for people to develop their navigation skills helping them to enjoy the outdoors confidently and safely.

The outdoor environment can be explored freely and safely when you know;

• where you are
• where you are going
• how you will get there

Navigation allows you to plan your walks, cycle rides or journeys in order to discover new places, get the best views, enjoy the wildlife, or simply reach a destination.

At Paignton Community & Sports College we can currently offer the Bronze Award and Silver Award. Each level is taught as a self contained unit and completion of a unit is validated to a national standard and recognised by a badge and certificate. You are free to work up the levels as far as you want.

The National Navigation Award Scheme is recognised by;

• British Orienteering
• Royal Institute of Navigation
